Finally, a finish!

Issue 27 of Quilt Now magazine dropped through my door yesterday, so that means that I can finally share the finished BOM quilt with you!

This quilt was a bit of a departure from the norm for me as I usually avoid sashing like the plague. This time around I felt that it was necessary to sash to bring all the colours of the different blocks together. There was plenty of negative space too so when I sent this away to Trudi for quilting I just knew that it would come back utterly transformed. I thought you might like to see the treatment that Trudi gave to each block so prepare for photo overload.

Trudi introduced so much texture with her beautiful quilting, it really makes the Kona solids sing. As per usual the quilt was pieced and quilted with Aurifil. I used the Emily Cier Kona solids bundle from Robert Kaufman to make this version of the quilt and I have the added bonus of having a full fat quarter stack bundle left over so I thought it would be nice to celebrate the end of this BOM with a giveaway!

I’m fairly sure I was already signed up for your newsletter, but just in case, I’ve signed up again as I can’t find an old one in my inbox to check. Had to chuckle when it asked me to tick a box to confirm I’m human given the name I signed up with!

Awesome quilt! I love solids and have been thinking of a quilt that is all solid diamonds or pyramid triangles.

They are so effective in your quilt I will probably attempt an EPP quilt or as I am about to learn how to do Foundation piecing correctly the plain colours would be put to good use.

I am fairly certain I receive your newsletter but I tried to find the form to fill out again just in case. I couldn’t find it anywhere. Might I suggest you link to it. If you would like to email it to me I’m good with that! I was on a mobile phone so that may be why I can’t find it.

The quilt is just delicious, the colours are amazing. I follow you on Instagram as well as via email 🙂 A Forrest abstract quilt would be my attempted project with these bright solids. 🙂
